Thai cats represent the traditional form of the Siamese breed and are often referred to as the “old style Siamese.” These cats maintain the classic appearance and balanced features that many people remember from earlier Siamese cats.
At Supreme Cattery, we are passionate about preserving the traditional Thai cat. Our breeding program focuses on maintaining the original look, personality, and temperament of these beautiful cats while ensuring strong health and genetic diversity.
Thai kittens are raised inside our home where they receive daily interaction and socialization. This helps them develop affectionate personalities and allows them to adapt easily to their new families.

The History of the Thai Cat
The Thai cat originates from Thailand, which was historically known as Siam. The cats we now call Siamese originally came from this region and were documented in ancient Thai manuscripts and artwork.
These cats were once highly valued in their homeland and were often associated with temples and royal households. When the breed was introduced to Europe and North America, it gained worldwide popularity.
Over time, selective breeding in Western countries led to the development of the modern Siamese with a more extreme body style. Because of these changes, the traditional Siamese type eventually became recognized separately as the Thai breed.
Thai cats preserve the appearance of the original Siamese cats that were first imported from Thailand.
Preserving the Traditional Siamese
Many people today recognize the traditional Siamese as the apple-head Siamese, which is the direction represented by the Thai breed.
At Supreme Cattery, our goal is to preserve the authentic appearance and personality of the traditional Siamese lines. When we decided to begin breeding Thai cats, it became clear that many cats labeled as Thai in the United States had been crossed with modern or semi-modern Siamese lines.
Because of this, we chose to import breeding cats directly from Europe and Thailand in order to maintain a true representation of the breed standard.
These carefully selected imports help ensure that our Thai cats maintain the balanced features, gentle expression, and loving temperament that define the traditional Siamese.
Personality and Temperament
Thai cats share many of the same personality traits as Siamese cats. They are affectionate, intelligent, and deeply connected to their families.
They enjoy being involved in daily household activities and often follow their owners from room to room. Thai cats are highly social and thrive in environments where they receive attention and interaction.
Many families describe them as having dog-like personalities because they often greet their owners at the door and enjoy interactive play.
Their friendly nature also makes them very welcoming toward visitors, which is a trait we value and select for in our breeding program.
Thai Cats as Family Pets
Thai cats make excellent companions for families, individuals, and households with children. Their affectionate nature and playful personalities allow them to bond closely with their owners.
Like all kittens raised at Supreme Cattery, Thai kittens are handled daily from birth so they develop strong social skills and confidence.
This early socialization helps them transition smoothly into their new homes and quickly become loving members of the family.
