Personality and Temperament

Siamese cats are extremely intelligent, loving, and inquisitive. They are naturally curious and enjoy exploring their surroundings, often wanting to be involved in everything their family is doing.

Many Siamese owners describe their cats as having dog-like personalities. It is common for Siamese cats to run to the door to greet their owners when they come home and follow their family members throughout the house.

They are also very interactive and often enjoy playing games such as fetch. Their affectionate nature makes them very people-oriented, and they typically form strong bonds with their families.

Another trait that surprises many people who meet Siamese cats for the first time is how friendly they are with strangers. At Supreme Cattery, we intentionally select breeding cats with welcoming and social temperaments so that our kittens grow into confident and affectionate companions.

Activity Level

Siamese kittens are naturally active, playful, and curious. Like most young animals, they enjoy exploring, climbing, and playing as they grow.

As they mature into adulthood, their energy levels become more balanced while they continue to enjoy interactive play with their families.

All kittens raised at Supreme Cattery are active and playful regardless of breed. We often recommend that families consider adopting two kittens together, especially littermates, as they benefit greatly from having a play companion. However, kittens also adapt very well when there is an older resident cat in the home.

The History of the Siamese Breed

The Siamese cat is one of the oldest known cat breeds and originated in Thailand, which was formerly known as Siam. Historical records and ancient manuscripts from Thailand describe cats with the distinctive color-point pattern that later became known as the Siamese breed.

These cats were once highly valued and were often associated with temples and royal households. Over time, Siamese cats were introduced to Europe and North America, where selective breeding helped establish the breed standards recognized by modern cat registries.

Throughout the years, different breeding approaches have led to variations in appearance, including both modern Siamese and traditional or “old style” Siamese types. Despite these differences in appearance, the affectionate and social personality of the Siamese breed has remained consistent.

Siamese at Supreme Cattery

At Supreme Cattery, our breeding program focuses on producing Siamese kittens with excellent health, strong genetics, and loving personalities.

All breeding cats undergo genetic testing prior to breeding to help ensure compatibility and reduce the risk of inherited diseases. Some of our breeding cats have also been imported from Europe and Asia in order to maintain a diverse genetic pool.

Our kittens are raised inside our home and handled daily from birth. This helps them develop strong social skills and prepares them to thrive in family environments.
